Interprint Partners with Evolution Design Studios

Interprint, Inc. and Evolution Design Studios, LLC of Holyoke, Mass. have announced a formal agreement to partner in the sales and production of laser engraved printing cylinders.

In February 2008, Interprint, Inc. revealed plans for the first expansion to its new Pittsfield manufacturing facility to accommodate its purchase of a Direct Laser System (DLS) from MDC Max Daetwyler AG of Switzerland. The DLS will allow Interprint to laser engrave printing cylinders in-house, becoming the first such décor printer in North America with the capability. Evolution Design Studios will act as a sales agent for the excess capacity of Interprint’s DLS.

Interprint Managing Director, William M. Hines, Jr. said “We are pleased to build this relationship with such an experienced and talented group as Evolution Design Studios. With the building construction phase of our expansion complete, we remain on-schedule to begin our laser engraving operation in the first quarter of 2009.” Of equal importance, according to Hines, the partnership proves that Interprint is not alone in its optimistic view of the future. “While others prefer to ‘wait out’ economic storms, we prefer to be proactive and focus on growth – a strategy that our new partners obviously share in.”

Jake Evans, Director of Sales at Evolution Design Studios, agreed, “The entire team is excited to work with Interprint. With this new service, they have cemented their position as the leading décor printer in our industry. We are proud to represent their capabilities and share in their enthusiasm for the future.”

With more than sixty years of combined experience, Evolution Design Studios is a leading designer, engraver and consultant for the decorative surfaces industry. Evolution is ready to assist customers in the fundamental change laser engraving will bring to the marketplace and looks forward to the opportunity to promote this exciting industry advancement.
